Hole for the foundations of a wind turbine

After: FIFTY of these!

Scale: The tiny figure at the bottom is a person!

The Clashindarroch Threat

The proposed development site at Clashindarroch will cover 2000 acres including moorland as well as forest.

Landscape: The proposed turbines will be over 300 feet high (100 metres) and will be seen for miles across Moray and Aberdeenshire. The view from the Tap o' Noth, the Buck and the Deveron valley will be dominated by this development.

Wildlife: The construction and operation of the wind farm will affect endangered species including Red Squirrels and Wildcat.

Operation of the wind farm will kill numerous birds in flight.
Bird species to be seen in the area include Osprey, many types of owls, Merlin, Hen Harriers, Kestrel, Buzzards, Peregrine Falcon, Mallard and Black and Red Grouse. Migrating birds such as geese also pass over Clashindarroch in flight and will be killed by turbine strikes.

Traffic: The construction phase of the project will create heavy traffic to and from the site. Local roads were never intended to carry fleets of heavy construction vehicles. Construction will take three summers over the tourist season.

This hideous development will destroy one of Scotland's most beautiful and unspoiled landscapes, including the Castle Trail and the Whisky Trail.
